Dr. Minkoff’s empirical patient Healthy Gut protocol involves three key BodyHealth products. The first of these products is Digestive Enzymes. ​Most people need digestive enzymes. Digestive Enzymes has hydrochloric acid (HCL) and pancreatic enzymes to supplement the acid and enzyme activity in the upper and lower GI. In addition to its activity on microorganisms, stomach acid is also necessary to activate the protein digestive enzyme, pepsinogen. In the presence of acid, pepsinogen is changed to pepsin which initiates the digestion of protein. The pancreatic enzymes break up the proteins, fats and carbohydrates in foods that are ingested to ensure that they are broken down to be assimilated.*

The second product is Probiotic - Enhanced with PerfectAmino®. Most individuals do not have the right ratios of good bacteria in their gut. BodyHealth’s Probiotic provides both live probiotics and dormant probiotics that proliferate good bacteria when taken as a supplement. BodyHealth’s probiotics are protected by the capsule, ensuring that the bacteria get to the lower GI and are not destroyed by the stomach acid.*

The third product is BodyHealth’s newest formula, Bio Clear™. Bio Clear is another tool in your arsenal to assist with the overgrowth of bad bacteria including yeast. Bad bacteria perpetuates the biotoxins and harms the mucosal lining of the GI tract, eventually causing disturbances in virtually all healthy cells when released into the bloodstream.*

Bio Clear helps support the body’s natural healthy defense toward the pathogens that cause biotoxins in the body. BodyHealth Bio Clear​ is a proprietary blend of herbs and essential oils that support immune health and normal healthy inflammatory processes by nourishing the good bacteria in the gut: Bilberry, milk thistle, noni, echinacea, goldenseal, shitake mushroom, white willow bark, garlic powder, grape seed extract, raspberry, tea tree oil, furnitory, gentian, lavender oil, oregano oil, and blended with PerfectAmino® Essential Amino Acids. This product is well-tolerated with most individuals. Occasionally, individuals may experience symptoms related to the bad bacteria and microbes dying off. In such cases, it is recommended to reduce the dosage to 1 capsule 1-2 times daily preferably with a meal. The typical patient protocol using Digestive Enzymes, Probiotic, and Bio Clear is 4 months.*

In addition to the Healthy Gut protocol, it is recommended that the patient remove grains, dairy, and nightshade food from their diet, trying to consume clean organic foods. Legumes and seed-type grains may be reinstated once the patient expresses improvement in their gut health.
